Overview

SchooLinks can send email notifications to your district's IT team about the data files you send us, whether they arrive through the SFTP server or the Data Upload page. Notifications are optional and off by default. This page explains what each notification covers so you can decide whether to turn them on for your district.

Available Notifications

Notification When it is sent What it includes
Import Failure Alert A file you sent could not be imported into SchooLinks The file name, a link to the upload details in SchooLinks (for files that appear on the Data Upload page), and a link to the schema documentation for that file
Import Results Report A file imported successfully, but SchooLinks produced a report about it that you asked to receive (for example, a list of records that could not be matched to a student) The file name, the date it was processed, and download links to the selected reports

Import Failure Alert

Sent when a file fails to import, for example because of missing required columns or a file that could not be read. Use it to fix and resend the file before the next scheduled import.

Import Results Report

Sent after a successful import, but only for the specific report types your district chooses. A common example is a report of records that could not be matched to a student in SchooLinks, which helps you find identifier issues in your source data.

⚠️ Report download links expire after 7 days. Download any reports you want to keep before then.
