Inclusion criteria: GPA values for all current students

Minimum Upload Frequency: After academic term grades are released

GPA File Upload Behavior:

When a new GPA file is uploaded, we update the GPA records only for the active students included in that file.

Any active students who were present in previous uploads but are missing from the new file will have their GPA records archived. These students will then appear in the system as not having a GPA.

⚠️ Important:

Each upload is treated as the complete and current source of truth. If a student’s GPA is not included in the latest file, we will assume their GPA is no longer available and archive the existing record.

Note:

At this time, we do not support uploading only partial lists of students for incremental GPA updates. If a GPA file is uploaded, it must include all students who should retain a GPA record.

• If your district does not use either a weighted or an unweighted GPA, then the unneeded columns can be left blank (but the column headers should still be included).
• GPA denominator (weighted and unweighted) is a district setting. If the denominator values are provided in the file, they will override the District setting.
• We only allow one GPA record per GPA type (i.e., unweighted/weighted) per student in a single file.

How is it used in the platform:

• Shows in the student performance and attendance page for students
• Shows in the student performance and attendance casefile section for staff and guardians
• Used for filtering colleges in College Search based on how GPA compares to the median admitted student
• Used in showing dot on scattergrams for college acceptance results
• Used for showing student dot in college comparison feature
• User for calculating MyChances (reach/target/likely)
