Update logic:

• Whenever the file is updated, we will attempt to update all student GPAs in the file. Student GPAs that that appeared in previous versions of the file that end up dropping out of future versions of the file will be marked as archived and these students without new GPAs passed will show as not having a GPA

• If your district does not use either a weighted or an unweighted GPA, then the unneeded columns can be left blank (but the column headers should still be included).

• GPA denominator (weighted and unweighted) is a district setting. If the denominator values are provided in the file, they will override the District setting.

• We only allow one GPA record per GPA type (i.e., unweighted/weighted) per student in a single file.

How is it used in the platform:

• Shows in the student performance and attendance page for students
• Shows in the student performance and attendance casefile section for staff and guardians
• Used for filtering colleges in College Search based on how GPA compares to the median admitted student
• Used in showing dot on scattergrams for college acceptance results
• Used for showing student dot in college comparison feature
• User for calculating MyChances (reach/target/likely)
• Automatically filled in in NACAC form and Common App forms so that counselors don’t need to manually fill these

Configurable Options:

To update a configuration for how GPA is displayed, you can reach out to your Customer Success Manager or [email protected]

• Both numerator values, by default, are rounded by two decimal places. A value of 3.365 will display as 3.37. It is recommended to have the configuration set to round 5 or less decimal places.
• If a denominator value is not passed in the data file, we default all GPA type values to 4.0
• By default, the denominator will be displayed even if a value is not passed in the data file.
