Exporting Data from Naviance

This documentation explains how to export data from Naviance to populate the "scattergrams" of past college applications by High School. To do this, you must be an administrator of Naviance.

We also allow you to export Scholarship Data that can be imported into SchooLinks:

This process is the same whether you are exporting 1 high school or a whole district. However, if you export this for multiple high schools, you'll need to complete the last step which helps us align the Naviance-specific school IDs to your actual school identifiers.

1. Navigating to the right section

• Login to your Naviance account
• Hover over the Gear icon on the top right corner and select Setup
• Select Data Export on the left
  • You may be prompted to confirm your identity with a MFA text code.

2. Selecting export criteria

• For Grade/Class range, ****we recommend exporting at least 5 years of historical data
  • Ex: If the current school year ends in 2024, we would expect the data extracted from naviance to be 2019-2024. This would capture the last 5 historical years (2019-2023) as well as the current year (2024).
• include all current 6th through 12th grade students
• For Data Type, we recommend downloading everything within the dropdown

3. Preparing the files to Send

• The following files should all be included in your export. If you do not have all of the following files, please repeat the steps above making sure to download everything in the Data Type drop down.

  

  • SAT Scores
  • student data
  • ACT Aspire, PLAN, Pre-ACT and ACT Scores
  • application data
  • scholarship data

• Do not open, rename, or modify the files once you have downloaded
